Our Giti basket is woven from water hyacinth which is a new natural material for our kitchen and pantry collections. Simply braided with handles for serving, this versatile basket is ideal for displaying spices, serving up nibbles or elegantly storing the inevitable kitchen odds and ends. It would also serve well in other living spaces. Water hyacinth is a river weed in Vietnam, where these baskets are made, so the local weavers we work with are making ingenious use of an unwelcome species in the ecosystem.
